The idea for this blog started years ago, over a pizza dinner with my dad. As we sat there enjoying the good food in front of us, we laughed about our mutual love of pizza and joked that we should start a blog, discussing all the local pizza joints and why others should love them as much as we did. Who would read it? Probably no one, but wouldn't it be fun to do anyways? Finally, what we casually imagined all those years ago is a reality, and I couldn't be more excited to work on this labor of love to bring you our amateur, but always enthusiastic, pizza opinions.
Hello and welcome to Pizza with Puccini! I'm a Chicagoland native and lover of good pizza, and while I'm by no means a food critic, I do work in the food industry. I'm a Cubs fan (just like my dad) and a Chicago Sky season ticket holder. I'm a Libra, I have a cat who patiently tolerates me, I adore Springsteen, and in my free time I can most likely be found with my head in a book.
Hello, and welcome to our first ever blog. I was born in Chicago, and raised in the western suburbs. As far back as I can remember, I have loved pizza. One of my favorite childhood memories is looking forward to Saturday night, because that would be the night we would order pizza from our favorite place (Barones in La Grange Park) and wash it down with a six pack of R.C. Cola. We are a house divided when it comes to baseball (2 Cubs fans, 2 Sox fans) but we somehow manage to make it work.
I am an avid sports fan, supporting all our Chicago teams. I love to cook and I love food (as my somewhat ample belly will attest to). My daughter gets her love of Springsteen from her dad. I would like to thank my daughter for getting this pipe dream up and running, and I look forward to any suggestions or comments you may have.
Now, let's go eat some pizza!
